This internationally acclaimed platform, known for spotlighting visionary design, architecture, and material experimentation, is the perfect stage for Crafting Plastics to reveal its latest advancements in biodegradable and eco-conscious materials.
At Alcova Miami 2024, Crafting Plastics invites visitors to experience a fusion of form, fragrance, and interaction. Feel The Matter is a scent-driven, sensory interactive installation that immerses viewers in a deeper connection with responsive biomaterials, inviting them to rethink the boundaries between the tangible and the perceptual. As they approach, the towering columns of sustainable bioplastic stools respond to proximity, releasing subtle, earthy scents that fill the space with a warmth often absent in synthetic materials. The sculpture’s interactivity is further enhanced by its solar-active bioskin, which reacts to UV radiation, dynamically changing color in real-time based on the UV index.

The stackable bioplastic stools featured in the installation are part of Crafting Plastics’ Collection 14. Produced using 3D printing technology and made from Nuatan®, the studio’s signature 100% biobased and industrially biodegradable material, these stools come in various sizes and incorporate a custom-designed surface structure.
