Lexus x CP! Melbourne 2025

Crafting Plastics Studio is part of this year’s reimagined LANDMARK by Lexus Birdcage pavilion, unveiled for the 2025 Melbourne Cup Carnival. The new pavilion explores Synthesis - a theme that brings together craftsmanship, sensory experience, and future-oriented technology.

Our contribution expands this narrative through material-driven design, presenting a selection of experimental biobased surfaces and structures. These materials appear across the installation as shifting, light-responsive elements that echo Lexus’s vision of responsible luxury.

Working closely with interior designer Brahman Perera, we introduced a mix of renewable polymers, reactive coatings, and emerging bio-composites to demonstrate how sustainable materials can function both aesthetically and structurally in a large-scale environment. The result forms a dialogue between architecture, movement, and atmosphere - revealing how next-generation biomaterials might shape future hospitality, mobility, and spatial design.

The collaboration marks an important step in integrating biodesign into mainstream cultural platforms, showing that ecological thinking and high-end experience need not stand apart.
