What if matter could feel?
What if the walls around us could breathe, signal, and adapt?
What if plastics were not wasteful and inert, but responsive, living-like companions?

At Material Matters 2025, Crafting Plast!cs studio presents a close reality where bioplastics are already here — ready- to-use, responsive materials that move from research to life. These systems reveal invisible radiation, signal the health of soil, and create interiors that adapt with us instead of against us. They show plastics not as waste, but as active, sensing agents of everyday environments.

All of these works are made from biobased and biodegradable biocomposites, developed by the studio through years
of design-research. They are proof that materials once seen as ephemeral can be durable, beautiful, and intelligent, already ready to enter daily life and reshape how we build, furnish, and care for our spaces.

Together, these works demonstrate that the materials of tomorrow are already here — responsive systems designed to adapt, transform, and eventually return to the earth. They show that bioplastics are ready to live with us, inviting us to imagine interiors animated by surfaces that sense and respond to the world around them.

Bioplastics are not a vision of the future — they are already ready to live with us.
