HEAD OF OPERATIONS & FINANCE

(Nuatan / Crafting Plastics) 

 

full time / on-site / hybrid 

 

We are now seeking a Head of Operations & Finance, a grounded executive professional who can turn creative ambition into operational and financial clarity.

This person will ensure that the founders’ ideas and values are executed effectively, sustainably, and profitably.


PURPOSE OF THE ROLE


To lead the operational, financial, and strategic execution of Nuatan’s business model while maintaining strong alignment with Crafting Plastics!’s creative and ethical vision.

This person bridges creative leadership and business pragmatism, ensuring that both vision and execution are in balance.

IDEAL PROFILE

 

EXPERIENCE

8+ years in operations, finance, or general management (preferably in product design, or sustainable manufacturing).

Proven track record in scaling creative, or impact-driven ventures.

Experience with product launches, certification processes, and production logistics is a strong advantage.

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

Excellent command of financial management and business operations.

Strategic thinker with hands-on execution ability.

Strong interpersonal intelligence, able to collaborate with visionary founders respectfully yet firmly.

Empathic communicator, confident in decision-making.

Fluent in English and Slovak (spoken and written).


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

1. STRATEGIC OPERATIONS &  EXECUTION

        • Translate founders’ vision into clear, achievable operational plans and measurable milestones.
        • Oversee business operations across production, certification, logistics, and sales.
        • Ensure alignment between CPS and Nuatan, optimizing shared resources and processes.
        • Drive business case development, investor readiness, and partnership strategy.

 

2. FINANCIAL LEADERSHIP

        • Lead financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
        • Manage cash flow, contracts, and supplier relationships with transparency and discipline.
        • Oversee pricing strategy, margin optimization, and funding (investors, grants, EU programs).
        • Ensure compliance with Slovak and EU accounting and reporting standards.

 

3. TEAM & CULTURE

        • Build and manage a small but high-performing team around operational and financial delivery.
        • Foster clarity, accountability, and respect within a creative and multicultural environment.
        • Support founders in maintaining a healthy, structured company rhythm while protecting their space for innovation.

 

4. PRODUCT & MARKET

        • Understand material properties, production requirements, and certification processes of bioplastics.
        • Coordinate product development and market readiness for scalable product lines (e.g., cards, accessories, sheet materials).
        • Liaise with partners and clients to align production capacities and sustainability commitments.

 

5. COMMUNICATION & STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT

        • Act as the main operational link between founders, partners, and suppliers.
        • Communicate clearly, diplomatically, and transparently across all levels. 
        • Represent the company in discussions with investors, clients, and strategic stakeholders.
